Carport Cat (CC) just moved in and it appears we have been chosen
This dude showed up with a snotty nose a week ago. I fed him once and since he has been friendlier than my indoor cats. Took him to the vet and got him an antibiotic and steroid and other meds. Vet guessed je was 8-10 and was abandoned. Figured he can enjoy retirement from the street and wet food in retirement in my carport.

We decided to name him CC (carport cat) and he follows us wherever we are in the yard. I love my cats that I adopted but this is the first time I've been adopted by a cat and man, it feels special.

in that first pic, his appreciation shows in his eyes. I love that he buttered you up until you caved & adopted him! hope he can persuade his way inside.

That look really does say, "Thanks for letting me stay." CC looks like a cat who finally found exactly what he was looking for. No more wandering around, no more searching for his next meal, just a safe place to hang out and people who are happy to have him around. For a cat that showed up only a week ago, he already looks completely settled in. He knew right away he had found his spot.

Every cat pawrent dreams of being adopted by a cat at least once. Adopting a cat is great, but having a cat pick you feels like a completely different level of approval. Out of all the houses, yards, and people in the world, they somehow decide you're the one worth following around. CC really seems like he made his choice quickly too. One meal later and he was already acting like he'd been part of the family for years. That kind of trust, especially from an older cat, feels pretty special.

At first I read that as "Corporate Cat" and thought "well, yes, he does look like a CEO."
-
CC has been there for about a week and somehow already got promoted to CEO of the entire property. One free meal and suddenly he is supervising yard activities, following employees around, and making executive decisions about where everyone should be standing. The name may stand for Carport Cat, but it might as well stand for Chief Cat Officer at this point. He's settled into the role surprisingly fast.

CC knew the right human to suck up to! That's a great story. It warms my heart to know that this kitty will be taken care of the rest of its life and be very happy, too. Well done!
